Congratulations Sky with winning the IBC innovation awards! Congrats too toTechexandSquared Paper Ltd.We're proud of the role our visionary playout product VIPE played in this project, run as a true partnership between BCNEXXT and Sky.I still remember us going into Sky with our presentation on VIPE a few years ago, for the Sky playout transition into the cloud. Definitely a 'dark horse' at that time, conceptually different than the incumbent playout vendors. You guys got it! I still admire the boldness and the curiosity of Sky, to actually include our concept into their proof-of-concept.Where we smashed the competition with factors of better metrics.If you really want to improve cloud playout in cost, reliability and agility you will have to change the workflow. Otherwise you're just doing the same thing a little better in the cloud as a result of logical evolution. Evolution might give you (10s) percentages in improvement. Only disruption and conceptual changes will win you factors of improvement.VIPE has the potential to disrupt playout and content delivery even further if we take the concept higher up towards content centric delivery. That is still some years out for most. We’re ready for the future were we envision breaking down the silo’s now responsible for playout, online, streaming, vod, fast, …VIPE is an enabler for that to happen.Holistically look at content delivery, instead of looking for 'boxed' improvements in a sequential workflow originating from the 90s.For now we are really happy in the playout domain, ready to work with our customers to expand and reach that vision in the future.I am grateful for the people involved in the Sky project (you know who you are) selecting VIPE when they did.It takes some courage and research to innovate, deviate from treaded paths.So, although we always knew we could deliver on the promise, you still have to be granted the possibility to do so – thanks🙏

European innovation scoreboard 2023:Based on their scores, EU countries fall into fourperformance groups:Innovation leaders, Strong innovators, Moderate innovators and Emerging innovators. Denmark is the new top innovator with the best performance in the EU, overtaking Sweden after a few years in leading position. Do you know what? Innovation doesn’t work……when done in isolation. 🧠It can’t be the job of single people or teams to ‘be innovative’. It takes a culture and mindset with buy in from bottom to top; one where it’s ok to try new things, there is space to test, and acceptance that it may lead to learning or failure, before scale. 🧪It also can’t be done in ‘labs’ or silos, disconnected from the business, aimlessly testing concepts or cool tech with no eye on business value as an outcome.⁉️And it can’t be done without first understanding the problem you’re trying to solve, with real clarity on who you are solving for for, the value it will bring them and some idea of what good looks like from a potential solution.🚀Which is why, together with the brilliant minds of BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) Innovation Council, “The Innovators Guide” was created.
