Kitty’s World Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Select the large play button at the center to begin.
    • Select Levels at the bottom center to open the level selection screen.
    • Select the speaker button on the top right corner to turn the game’s sounds on or off.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard:
      • Press the left arrow key or the A key to move left.
      • Press the right arrow key or the S key to move right.
      • Press the up arrow, the W key, or the space bar to jump.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on the left and right arrows to move.
      • Tap on the up arrow to jump.
  • Controls and indicators (left to right)
    • Top row:
      • Score
      • Remaining lives
      • Hamburger button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
    • Bottom row (touchscreen controls):
      • Up arrow
      • Left arrow
      • Right arrow
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Move the cat to the food bowl at the right end of the level.
    • Jump up platforms to avoid falling into the water.
      • Most platforms stay in one place.
      • Other, later platforms are
    • Evade hazards.
    • When you reach the end of the level, you have 3 options.
      • Select the home button to return to the welcomes screen.
      • Select the reset button to try the level again.
      • Select the next button to move onto the next level. This isn’t available if you failed the level by dying.
    • The game ranks your performance with stars, based on the amount of kibble you collected.
      • The highest rating is 3 stars, which is when you pick up all the kibble in the level.
      • The more kibble you pick up, the higher your rating will be.
  • Hazards
    • Dogs
      • Dogs move back and forth.
      • Unlike in real life, the dogs will not chase you in this game.
      • You will lose a life if you touch them, though.
    • Mines
      • Mines appear on the floor. They will explode if you touch them.
      • A mine will cost you one life.
      • To escape a mine, jump over it and land on the safe space next to it.
    • Spikes
      • Spikes will cost you one life if you touch it.
      • To avoid spikes, wait until they retract. They will be safe to walk on while they are retracted.
      • We recommend jumping onto a floor with spikes only when they’ve recently retracted.
  • Lives
    • You begin each level with 3 lives.
    • Each time you hit a hazard, you lose a life.
    • Lose all your lives and you fail the level.
    • You automatically lose if you fall into the water, regardless of how many lives you have.
  • Scoring
    • Your score per level is determined by the amount of kibble you collect.
    • Each bit of kibble is worth 1 point. Defeating a dog also earns you 1 point.
  • Levels
    • There are 12 levels in this game, which are unlocked sequentially.
    • Each time you load the game, you automatically load the latest level you’ve unlocked.
    • You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten by selecting Levels on the welcome screen
